Child Dedications

Child Dedication is an opportunity to celebrate the gift of children from God. Child dedications is important and acknowledges the God-given responsibility to parents to raise their children in the discipline and instruction of the Lord (Ephesians 6:4). During the dedication, parents will make a commitment before the Lord to raise their children according to God's Word and God's ways. The church is also a partner of the dedication, committing to partner with parents to help instruct by word and example, pray for the children, and pray for the parents.

At MVCC, we believe a person must make a personal committment to Christ as their Savior to be baptized. Therefore, we encourage parents to dedicate their children , praying, witnessing, instructing, and trusting in the Lord to lead their children to a saving faith in Christ.

As you consider dedication, please start by watching the following video from Pastor Adam. Next, download and read the Child Dedication Online Booklet. Finally, register for you child's didcation and answer all of the questions.

"Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates."
