2019 FALL SESSION

Wednesdays, September 18-November 20

6:45-8:30pm

WHAT IS ALPHA
Alpha creates a safe and informal space to explore and discuss questions about life, faith and God.

WHO IS ALPHA FOR
Everyone is welcome to come to Alpha! People attend for a variety of reasons. Some want to investigate whether God exists and if there is any point to life; others are concerned about what happens after death. Some may have attended church on and off all their lives but feel they never really understood the basics of the Christian faith. People come from many different backgrounds, holding many different viewpoints – but all come with the same objective: to establish whether Jesus Christ has any relevance in their lives.

WHAT IS ALPHA LIKE

  • First, there is food. Each evening you will enjoy a free, delicious home-cooked dinner with your small group of 8-9 people and get to know each other.

  • Then, there is a talk. Generally thirty minutes long, these talks are designed to engage and inspire conversation. They will explore the big issues around faith and unpack the basics of Christianity.

  • Followed by discussion. This is the most important part of the evening: the chance to share thoughts, ideas, and questions on the topic, and simply discuss it in a small group. There is no obligation to say anything… and there’s nothing you can’t say. It is an opportunity to talk about things in an honest, friendly and open environment.

AND...WHAT ABOUT MY CHILDREN
If you have children 10 years old and younger,
please bring them to enjoy an evening with other kids—they will eat a great, tasty, and nutritional meal too—they will have a time of fun and games—and they will experience an interactive lesson about God and the Christian faith where they too can ask questions and learn. Don’t worry, your child won’t forced to believe

anything but will be exposed to some of the similar teachings the adults are learning. We will also provide a handout on the way home each evening so you can know what your kids

learned.
