Philosophy of Ministry

Here at Mountain View Community Church we are committed to following God's lead in reaching the world with the good news about Jesus Christ. With that goal in mind, we actively support many ministries both locally and internationally with an emphasis on church planting and evangelism.

This not only involves supporting individual missionaries, but also mission organizations, mission fields, and other organizations dedicated to spreading God's Word through the establishment of local churches no matter where they may be.

Our Missions Purpose Statement

The MVCC Missions Ministry exists to:

  • Equip believers to do missionary work
  • Send believers into the mission field, and
  • Support missionaries going to the mission field
so that: (1) new churches are planted, specifically among the un-reached,
and (2) the beauty and truth of the Gospel is proclaimed in word and deed, among all peoples, to the glory of God.

Reach Out

At Mountain View, missions starts with our family and friends and extends to all parts of the world. Mountain View is a place where we impact the world by challenging, training and sending out our people to courageously take the gospel to every corner of the globe, serving as missionaries, pastors and other Christian workers.

Opportunity

There are many opportunities for people of every age no matter what your previous missions experience. We start in our own community. We provide a summer daycamp for children in our community. Children in our community have the opportunity to play games, do crafts, and most importantly hear the Gospel of Christ.

We have “Friend Day” at church where you have an opportunity just to invite an unchurched friend to Church. Even our youth have a chance to serve and minister to people around the world. Just this summer the middle school youth went to Pittsburgh, PA to help women and elderly with service projects around their houses. The high school went to Mexico and Peru to do Bible Studies and street witnessing in those countries.

Participate

Then there are many areas where the adults can participate in missions. We often partner in a church in Baltimore to help meet their needs and share the Gospel. Also, there are opportunities to go overseas to minister to unreached people in countries such as Cuba and Mexico.

Support

Finally, Mountain View supports missionaries worldwide in countries such as Brazil, Cuba, and East Asia, as well as, local mission organizations such as Youth for Christ. It doesn’t matter what your gifts and talents are or what your age or experience, God can use you to share the Gospel and the love of Jesus with those around you.
