Our Purpose
The purpose of MVCC's Women's Ministry is to help women come to know and serve God, and to grow in their relationship with Him, and with each other.The Goals of MVCC's Women's Ministry are:
- To reach women through evangelism
- To disciple women through Bible studies
- To support each other in our spiritual walk
- To provide fellowship
- To meet special needs unique to women
Bible Studies
Each fall we start off several different women's Bible studies that are offered in the evening and in the day time, usually one of them has child care provided. These help women grow in their faith as well as provide fellowship with other ladies from our church.Events
We also try to have ladies' events planned at least quarterly for the purpose of providing fellowship and allowing women to become more connected with other women from our church. The Christmas Brunch is one of these, but is also an evangelistic event. The speaker usually talks about some aspect of Christmas, and includes a clear gospel presentation. Other fellowships include Ladies' Night Out, where we all meet at a restaurant for dinner; Movie Night, where we watch a movie based on a Christian story or theme; and Ladies' Spring Brunch which is a pot luck brunch held at someone's home.We also have a Fall or Spring Retreat most years. It is a fun time to get away and connect with other women from MVCC. The speaker usually talks on a subject that will help women grow closer to Christ.
Then we also have at times addressed specific needs that some women may have, such as a widow's ministry and a support group for women who are unequally yoked.
