Welcome to the VIEW

Did you know that you are not here by accident? In fact, not only were you created by God, but you were given a purpose - to follow Jesus and serve him. At the View, everything we do is to help students:
  • Encounter God
  • Engage his Word, and
  • Emerge to serve him.

And we have fun doing it! We come from a variety of schools and neighborhoods, and are a pretty diverse group of people, but we gather regularly to hang out, build relationships, and discover how to have a relationship with God through Jesus Christ.

For more information on our program or activities, contact our Youth Pastor, Steve Anderson or Administrative Assistant, Barbara Grodahl.

The PIT

Our new youth center—The Pit—is a fantastic place to hang out! We call it The Pit because there’s a hole in the middle of the floor, but also because we want it to be a place of PASSION, INTEGRITY and TRUTH! Created just for students, The Pit has a cool atmosphere filled with big screen TVs, fabulous furniture, lots of games (ping-pong, billiards, foosball), a patio for those beautiful spring days, and a snack bar for the always-hungry teenager. It’s the home of our youth praise band, the site of some really great worship times, and it’s frequented by a lot of caring adults. It’s the perfect pad for a youth ministry as awesome as the VIEW, and we know you will love it.

Sunday Mornings - DTour

A disciple is a committed follower. DTour (“D” stands for “Discipleship” and “Tour” stands for, uh, “Tour”) is a series of four Sunday morning pathways to help students understand and deepen their faith. DTour takes place each week during the school year during the 9:30 service on Sunday mornings. Each element of DTour is unique, creative and age-appropriate.

Beginnings For sixth and seventh-graders, Beginnings features a series of Bible stories related in a way that makes them stick. As they hear and retell the stories, students are able to imagine--and remember--the major events of the Bible and discover God’s incredible story.
Located in Room 111 (lower level)

Crossings For eighth and ninth-graders, Crossings covers eight “modules” over a two-year period, ideas that form the core of the Christian faith and that every Christian should know. Crossings combines teaching, small groups and even a wee bit of homework to help students begin to make their faith their own.
Located in the PIT classroom (lower level)

The Rising For tenth and eleventh graders, The Rising is the time when students learn what it means to “walk with God” every day. Based around a curriculum called “The Pilgrimage,” students in The Rising learn to study the Bible on their own as a companion for life, and together form a community of “pilgrims” who are on a journey to follow Jesus.

The Inheritance Seniors are getting ready for the world that awaits them. Our class for seniors, done with coffee and conversation, is a time to reflect on what we really believe about the world and about God. We have lots of talks about hot issues of the day, and help students form a view of the world that can withstand the tests of college and life.
Location TBD

WOW (Middle School)

Wednesday Nights 6:30 to 8:30 in the PIT

WOW features high energy, high octane activities mixed with creative Bible teaching and small groups. WOW is a great place to meet new friends, and our best friend of all, Jesus Christ. We meet every Wednesday except the first one of each month.

SOS (High School)

Sunday Nights 6:00 to 8:45 in the PIT

SOS brings together high school students from all over our area every Sunday night for a great time of worship with our youth praise band, inspiring messages, “God sightings,” and authentic small groups. The doors and the snack bar open at 6:00, and the activities get underway around 7:00.

Other Stuff

We have a ton of other great events throughout the year. Whether it’s theme parties, our fall and winter retreats, summer mission trips, the 30-Hour Famine, our biannual trip to the Challenge Youth Conference, or small groups getting together on their own, there is always something happening at the View. Come meet our fantastic youth staff and our awesome students, and start discovering God’s great purpose for your life!
