Congregational Care

Deacons/ Deaconesses

MVCC would love to minister to those who are in need and going through a tough time. We have created a Deacon Team to assist in this mission. Please read below to get to know each of us:

Brian Gregory :

My name is Brian Gregory. My bride and our two daughters have been at MVCC since the summer of 2011. I love the Lord and desire to share with others the kindness and grace our Savior, Jesus Christ, extends to me every day. By training, I am a school counselor, having worked at the elementary, middle and high school levels. I am in my 34th year with Montgomery County Public Schools and thank my Heavenly Father for the work he has given me to do. He has placed me in a position to encourage young people, their parents and those who teach them. I believe God has blessed me with the gift of encouragement, allowing me to communicate to others Godly, wise counsel, a caring attitude and words which build up. If you are at a tough spot in your life, in need of some direction or just need someone to talk with, please identify someone in your life you can trust to provide the above. If you want that someone to be me, please contact me through the MVCC office, or look for me on a Saturday night at the end of service. In the meantime, “The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face to shine upon you and be gracious to you; the Lord lift up his countenance upon you and give you his peace.” (Numbers 6:24-26). Amen.

Debbie Dunnigan:

I have been attending MVCC since 2013 where I love serving God and our church family through ministry. My passion is to show God's love and encouragement to widows and those battling cancer. I also serve along with my husband at our MVCC coffee bar which enables me to connect with more of our church family. My loves are God, serving, husband, family, friends, reading, walking, traveling, sunflowers, the color red, laughter, smiles, and hugs. Romans 12:13 Share with God's people who are in need. Practice hospitality.

Rich Sandy:

I have Attended MVCC since 2000 while MVCC was meeting at Urbana High School.  My wife and I have 4 wonderful grand kids (three boys,9, 4, 2 a girl 9 months and one ?? due March 18.  My hobbies include teaching myself to play the guitar, golf, building/restoring things with my hands (i.e. wood decoy carving, built my guitar, restoring antiques. building things such as decks, porches, sheds, recreational rooms).  Keeping in mind I am a jack of all trades but a master of none.  Much of what I do is for therapy.  Cheaper than paying a psychiatrist.

Rachel Franz:

My husband and I have been attending MVCC since November of 2012. The two of us are fur parents to a greyhound and two rambunctious cats. I serve in the Care Ministry, coffee bar, and attend a small home group. The Lord has blessed me with the heart that breaks for those who breaks His. I started working with MVCC in July of 2014 and haven’t looked back. The desire of my heart is for MVCC to become like the church in Acts where we take care of one another in need. I enjoy the outdoors, cars, and knitting. May the Lord bless you and give you peace.  "Be devoted to one another in brotherly love. Honor one another above yourselves. Never lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord. Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer. Share with God's people who are in need. Practice hospitality." Rom 12:10-13
