Tim joined Mountain View in March, 2010, after serving for over 4 years as the Associate Pastor of Student and Worship Ministries at Faith Baptist Church near Chicago, IL. He graduated from Cedarville University in 2006 with a degree in Youth Ministry and Christian Education. He first began serving in worship music ministry as a 16-year-old high school student in his local church youth group. Since then, Tim has led in worship through music for retreats, camps, conferences, church services, and school chapels.
Tim loves to study and teach the Word of God as well as to interact with and disciple young people, but his greatest passions are in the areas of worship and prayer. He is incredibly grateful for the opportunity to use music and prayer as avenues of worship for God.
Tim also enjoys writing songs and playing music outside of church. He has recorded many original songs and performed live in a variety of venues. His hobbies include watching movies, playing video games, spending time with his family and rooting for Penn State!
Tim and his wife, Katie were married in 2004. Their first son, Cale, was born in April of 2007. In March of 2010, they welcomed their second son, Megersa into their family from Ethiopia. The Nesters added two more boys, Thaddeus and Shepherd, to the fold when Katie gave birth to twins on February 27, 2011. Tim and Katie feel blessed to be able to teach and train their children to love and serve the Lord!
