Why We Do What We Do

Within the Christianity Community there are many different practices. For example, some churches baptize infants and others do not. Some observe the Lord's Supper (Communion) on a weekly basis, and others do not. Some believe Christ is present within the Communion elements, others do not. Some churches practice the speaking of tongues in public worship, others do not. And some churches have women pastors and others do not.

Why is this? Why do some churches hold to different positions and different practices? And, what does Mountain View believe and practice and why? In Pastor Guy's new series of messages, "Why We Do What We Do," he will address each of these four subjects: baptism, communion, speaking in tongues, and pastoral leadership. He will explain from the Scriptures why churches hold to the interpretations they do and why Mountain View takes the positions that it takes.
